1. Data controller

2. What data we process

All organizational data is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and never transmitted to our servers:

• Folder structure: Names, colors, and hierarchy of folders you create
• Tags: Tag names, colors, and conversation assignments
• Conversation metadata: Conversation IDs and titles (as displayed in the platform sidebar) and their folder/tag assignments
• Prompts: Prompt templates you create or save
• Settings: Your preferences (theme, sort order, sidebar position)
• License key: Your Pro license key (if purchased), stored locally for validation

We do not store or read the content of your AI conversations. The extension only reads conversation titles from the platform sidebar.

3. Export feature

When you use the Export feature, the extension reads message content from the currently open conversation page to generate a Markdown or JSON file. This data is:

• Processed entirely in your browser
• Downloaded directly to your device
• Never sent to any server

4. Network requests and third-party data processing

The extension makes network requests only to:

• Lemon Squeezy API (api.lemonsqueezy.com) — to validate and activate Pro license keys. Only the license key string is transmitted. No personal data, conversation content, or usage data is sent.

Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC) processes payment data when you purchase a Pro subscription. This includes your name, email, and payment information. Lemon Squeezy acts as Merchant of Record and is an independent data controller for payment data. See: Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.

We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, telemetry, cookies, or any third-party advertising services. There is no server-side backend.

5. Data transfer to third countries

License key validation requests are sent to Lemon Squeezy's servers, which may be located in the United States. This transfer is necessary for the performance of the license agreement (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). No personal data beyond the license key string is transmitted by the extension.

6. Legal basis for processing (Art. 6 GDPR)

• Local data storage (folders, tags, settings): Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — necessary for the performance of the service you requested by installing the extension.
• License key validation: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — necessary for the performance of the Pro subscription contract.
• Payment processing by Lemon Squeezy: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — necessary for the purchase transaction. Lemon Squeezy processes this data as an independent controller.

7. Data retention

• Local browser data: Retained until you uninstall the extension or clear extension data. No time limit — you control deletion.
• Payment data at Lemon Squeezy: Retained according to Lemon Squeezy's own retention policy and applicable tax/accounting laws.

8. Platforms accessed

The extension runs as a content script on:

• chat.openai.com / chatgpt.com (ChatGPT)
• claude.ai (Claude)
• gemini.google.com (Gemini)

On these sites, the extension reads the conversation sidebar to detect conversation titles and IDs. It injects a sidebar UI into the page. It does not intercept, modify, or transmit any data to or from these platforms. No data from these platforms is sent to us or any third party.

9. Permissions explained

• Host permissions (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com): To inject the organizer sidebar and read conversation titles from the platform navigation
• storage: To save your folders, tags, prompts, and settings locally
• alarms: To periodically revalidate Pro license status (once per hour)

10. Your rights under GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right of access (Art. 15) — You can request information about what data we process. Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you already have full access.
• Right to rectification (Art. 16) — You can edit your data directly in the extension (rename folders, edit tags, etc.).
• Right to erasure (Art. 17) — Uninstall the extension or clear its data to delete everything. For payment data, contact Lemon Squeezy.
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18) — You can disable the extension at any time via Chrome's extension settings.
• Right to data portability (Art. 20) — Use the Export feature to download your data in Markdown or JSON format.
• Right to object (Art. 21) — You can uninstall the extension at any time to stop all processing.

11. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for us is:

12. Data deletion

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data immediately. You can also clear extension data via Chrome settings (Extensions > AI Chat Organizer > Details > Clear data).

13. Children's privacy

AI Chat Organizer is not intended for use by children under 16 (the GDPR age of consent in Germany). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

14. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing.
